Congratulations to Zoë Fodderie, an M.Sc. student who is researching chronic stress in neonatal small spotted catsharks in the Flanders Marine Institute (Ostend, Belgium) over a period of 3 months.
The purpose of this study is to identify new biomarkers of chronic stress to identify stress in wild populations and Zoë will also be taking blood samples to look at energy reserves combined with respiratory tests every two weeks after conducting stress on the test group. The fieldwork for this research started in April and Zoë requested some funding for traveling, so we were happy to send her 250 euros.
