Research Fund 24/04 :: Beatriz Monteiro

We’re fully aware that our latest three ‘Research Fund’ posts (including this one on Beatriz, this one on Pedro, and this one on Fabiana) are starting to sound like a broken record…

So yes, this post will bear an extraordinary resemblance to the two previous ones, although this one is about Beatriz Monteiro, currently doing her marine biology internship at the amazing Pula Aquarium in Croatia.

So, back to the perks of having an awesome professor with an awesome company!

Beatriz is a student of our beloved founder and “Guy to blame when the sh#t hits the fan” at ESTM. Little did she know, starting the school year of 2023/24 last September, that this wonderful man would provide endless contacts for internships in public aquaria around the world, including the Pula Aquarium, which was Beatriz’ first choice for her internship.

What Beatriz also didn’t know was that this kind and wonderful professor provided not only contacts but also funds, so how amazing it was to find herself with 200 euros in her pocket to assist with traveling to Croatia during her senior year internship, just before graduating as a young marine biologist??
