Season’s Greetings and Happy 2025!
December 15, 2024We’re thrilled to announce that the report Global status of sharks, rays, and chimaeras was officially released on December 2nd.
This would not have been possible without the hard work, expertise, and dedication of a loooong list of contributors, whose contributions have been instrumental in shaping a report that we can all be proud of.
With the 2,000+ pages of information from every jurisdiction with a coastline (in addition to Bolivia and Paraguay for the occurrence of South America freshwater rays), the information was compiled by 353 contributors from over 110 countries! Together, the editors created something impactful that will be a great resource for anyone interested in shark, ray, and chimaera conservation for years to come and really support in driving change for these species.

We can’t thank them enough for agreeing to be part of this and for inviting us onboard this tremendous endeavour.
