Congratulations Liliett Francisco, a student who came all the way from Universidade de Lúrio, in Mozambique, to do her Ph.D. at Universidade de Aveiro in Portugal.

Liliett will focus her studies on modernizing fisheries in Mozambique, which means bringing them to the digital era. This monumental goal will involve countless local surveys, as well as rendering decades of handwritten data into electronic format.

There’s no way we could say no to this massive endeavor, so we sent Liliett 500 euros to cover her traveling expenses. Go, Liliett!
