Sea-turtles-a-plenty
September 23, 2024Wow, what a whirlwind this year’s EUAC meeting was!!
With 2.5 days of talks plus an awesome ice-breaker, there was no time for leaving a single subject for “later”, which is why our Flying Sharks and TechAquarium teams collapsed on the plane on their way home. Well, one poor bastard had an MSc thesis to revise, but that’s what you get with the big jobs!
Meanwhile, subjects presented included captive breeding, rewilding, habitat restoration, jellyfish culturing, coral reproduction, chain of supply, badass transports, and so much cool information that one could hardly keep up!
It’s a good thing we brought 4 Flying Sharkies and one TechyAquarium, so we could debrief each other on our walk back to the hotel at the end of each day, which allowed for some knowledge to sink in and find its way into the mental hard drive. Speaking of TechAquarium, better get your order in, because, after this meeting, 2025 is looking buuuuuusy!…
In the end, our literary stock of Sex, Sharks and Rock & Roll, Peixes Marinhos de Portugal, and Peixes Marinhos Costeiros de São Tomé e Príncipe books became dry, but you can always e-mail us and we’ll slip them in the mail.
Congrats to Mark de Boer, Ron Bernhard, Sander van Lopik and the rest of the enthusiastic Diergaarde Blijdorp / Rotterdam Zoo staff for their kindness and efforts and now it’s time to mark the 2025 calendar with… Istanbul!!
Better start saving now, because the family – and Ninucha (*) – won’t want to miss that one.
Kind regards to all and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!
(*) Can you spot Ninucha in the group photo??
