<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We promise this will be the last of these &#8220;Research Fund 24/04&#8221; posts with students from <a href="https://www.ipleiria.pt/estm/home/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ESTM</a>. What can we say? We have a generous heart and these kids found their way to it!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So let&#8217;s recap just how many ESTM marine biology students received funding from us this year, shall we?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">First there was <a href="https://flyingsharks.eu/research-fund-24-04-pedro-santos/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pedro Santos</a>, who flew to the <a href="https://thenationalaquarium.ae/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Aquarium in Abu Dhabi</a> and applied more than one year ago, which is why he received the lion&#8217;s share!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Then <a href="https://flyingsharks.eu/research-fund-24-04-fabiana-rodrigues/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fabiana Rodrigues</a> and <a href="https://flyingsharks.eu/research-fund-24-04-beatriz-monteiro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Beatriz Monteiro</a> also received some funding to support their travels to the <a href="https://aquarium.hr/en/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pula Aquarium</a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And, finally, Afonso Conde and Miguel Borges, who were also very dilligent and applied early last year, receiving 400 euros each so they could fly to the <a href="https://www.aquarium.com.mt/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Malta Aquarium</a> and graduate as marine biologists.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Wait a minute? That&#8217;s not all, we&#8217;re still missing Cláudia Francisco&#8217;s photo, but we should get that one quickly.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So that&#8217;s <em>six</em> ESTM students who received funding from Flying Sharks to assist their senior internships and graduate as future marine biologists. We can only hope that this year&#8217;s generosity will inspire them to return the favor to younger students in years to come and also to do their best to protect the world&#8217;s oceans and their inhabitants.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We&#8217;re pretty confident that they will.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8230;because, if they don&#8217;t, we know where they live!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mwahahahahahah!</p>
