They said it couldn’t be done… but we did it!

They also say “a picture is worth more than one thousand words”, so we’re just gonna let this video (below) do the talking for us.

In it you will see 275 Sardina pilchardus collected 6 days ago in Peniche, home to the largest purse-seine fishing fleet in the country. We finally found the ideal partner to work with and we’re deligthted with how well this process is going thus far. The animals started feeding 4 days after introduction and, so far, there’s been nothing but residual losses.

We have one order of approximately 600 animals we need to honor in June but, once we get those safely to their new home, the sky is the limit!

There’s nothing we enjoy better, at Flying Sharks, than to nourish strong and long lasting relationships with our clients & suppliers, who quickly become friends. After more than a decade and thousands of boxes and tanks with live fish shipped around the world with the assistance of our good friends from Nippon Express, we were finally able to submit our impossible calendars into an unforgetable lunch joining both teams!

And what better place to enjoy incredibly fresh fish and yummy treats than at Tasca do Joel, in Peniche, home of our mainland holding station?? And, while we’ve got our finger on the publicity button, here’s a nice plug for Ibericos Maldonado, which we all enjoyed for lunch, because we started distributing those as well!!

That’s right, the Covid-19 pandemic didn’t just throw us into the gloves, masks, and alcohol business… While we ventured out of our regular waters, we started dabbling in fine-dining and gourmet products, so be sure to tell your restaurateur friends about us… :p

The teams, front left to back, then right back to front: Carlos Sousa, Nuno Simões, João Correia, Nuno Alexandre, Nuno Brito, David Silva, Pedro Marques, and João Reis.
