Research Fund 23/06 :: Buddhi Maheshika :: AES

Remember our student friend Buddhi Maheshika, who received funding from us back in June?

At the time she received 500 euros from us, as partial assistance for her travels to this year’s American Elasmobranch Society meeting in the U.S.A.

This meeting holds a very special place in our hearts, since we attended it for the first time in 1994, nearly 3 decades ago!

We are therefore very thankful to Buddhi for sending us this lovely photo of herself in Virginia, and even more so to learn that our friend Jeffrey Carrier received the Distinguished Fellow of the Society Award this year!

We’ve known Dr. Carrier’s work all the way back to 1992, when we began searching for internships in the world of sharky research, and we can’t think of anyone more worthy of such a prestigious award.

So thank you Buddhi for the cool photos and congrats on such a brilliant start of your career!
