Day of the Sea

For many years Portugal’s been celebrating its “day of the sea” on the 16th of November. This occasion is traditionally marked by multiple events celebrating entrepeneurship in the oceanic realm. We were therefore delighted to explain to a group of ESTM students what Flying Sharks is and how we believe that harvesting a few thousand live fish and displaying them to the public – while educating that same public about the perils that oceans face – is a better, more efficient and smarter way to harvest marine resources, instead of overfishing fish stocks for cents.

Of course we couldn’t let this opportunity pass without mentioning our extraordinary “Mobile Holding Station”. Needless to say this work would not be possible without the generous funding – and unwavering support – from EEA Grants and DGPM.
