Captive bred Hippocampus guttulatus to the land of the Minotaur!

All of our orders have a special place in our hearts, but there’s something unique about shipping animals to CretAquarium, which is located in Crete, home of the mighty Minotaur!

We actually know this impressive institution quite well, since their staff hosted the 2010 EUAC Scientific Meeting. Coincidently, we did a presentation about the preparations for our mammoth double-A300-charter to Istanbul, during which we flew 3100 live fish (and invertebrates) on the magical evening of 13 December 2010. Our presentation in Crete also took place in an equally magic date, the 5th of October 2010, precisely 100 years after the Republic was implemented in Portugal. What better place – and date – to do a presentation to our peers than in Greece, home of Democracy??

Anyway, this week we shipped some captive bred Hippocampus guttulatus to our friends from Crete, who have a long track record in captive breeding themselves, so we know these lovely critters are in professional and able hands.
