Research Fund - 19/09
Congratulations Beth Faulkner, who is usually based in the Maldives carrying out manta research for Manta Trust and the Maldivian Manta Ray Project. When she was offered the chance to head to Indonesia to learn more about the mobulid ray fisheries and the science being carried out by the Mobula Project Indonesia she had to take the chance. Beth needed help funding her trip so we sent her 350 euros to help and allow her to expand her mobula knowledge. Unfortunately her trip is coming to and end soon but the experience will stay with her! Below is Beth pictured with some of the fishermen heading out to try and tag a mobula to help find out if they can survive after being released from gill nets!
