April 2010 - Endless thanks to Ricardo Silva (far left on the photo), a former student of João's, who talked to just about every commercial fisherman in the North part of the country until he found one willing to catch the very small Pleuronectes platessa for us.
| April 2010 - Super thanks also to Zé (far right on the previous photo) and Mike Weber, who generously agreed to temporarily hold these critters for us at the Estação Litoral da Aguda.
|
April 2010 - After a few days in Aguda the Flying Sharks team picked up the Soles and moved them to our holding station in Olhão, down in the South of Portugal.
| May 2010 - And then came the day to pack all 20 animals and ship them to Tokyo, after a bit of an extra wait because of the evil cloud of ash from the volcano in Iceland.
|
May 2010 - But the cloud couldn't prevent these Soles from travelling all the way to Japan...
| May 2010 - ...where they were unpacked safely approximately 48 hours after being packed in Olhão!
