August 2007 - Meagre, Argyrosomus regius, are caught using a small seine net. The animals are shipped to MARESA, an aquaculture facility in Ayamonte, south of Spain. August 2007 - Once caught, the animals are sexed by inserting a small catheter into the cloaca and visually inspecting the sample extracted.
August 2007 - Before the animals are removed from the transport tanks, they are mildly sedated with Fenoxiethanol. August 2007 - Once the Meagre are delivered, in Ayamonte, the tanks and support gear are quickly drained, thoroughly cleaned and become ready for immediate deployment.
