October 2008 - Mobula tarapacana are unusually frequent off Azorean waters and the Flying Sharks team travelled there to investigate how to collect them. October 2008 - João acts a little silly in light of the tremendous abundance of animals all around him.

October 2008 - Zé throws a little krill on the surface of the water and, sure enough... October 2008 - ...Mobula start swimming all around the boat.
October 2008 - Purse seining revealed to be an extremelly effective method for collecting M. tarapacana. October 2008 - A local purse-seine fisherman was hired to assist the Flying Sharks team. The collecting site is 5 hours off Faial, which means sailing out at 3 AM (!).
